The programme

The national skip2bfit skipping workshop programme has created a frame-worked approach to personal success, offering an intrinsic reward that can be translated into tangible educational benefits. We link key national curriculum cross-curricular requirements at key stage 2 (knowledge and understanding of patterns and processes, investigative skills and assessing evidence etc.) in an innovative and sustainable way that has been firmly endorsed by Ofsted inspectors and headteachers alike. More

The six week programme is at the heart of our product, but we also recognise that many schools will not be able to commit the budget or time required. We have therefore pulled together some more financially accessible packages, based around the same concept. Our one day programme is a great introduction to the whole concept and is made even more sustainable in the long term when coupled with our kit bag and playground markings. We also run inter schools challenge days that are generally externally funded. A number of School Sport Partnerships have taken on the skip2bfit Scheme in their partnership using it for 'the 5 hour offer', inter and intra-school competition. An example of this is the Dacorum School Sport Partnership who are currenltly running a virtual league for years 3 and 4.

For all activities we provide fresh blueberries or alternative fruit when this is not available, to all the children and adults taking part.

Funding

The skip2bfit programme can be funded in a variety of ways. Because skip2bfit is so closely allied to the personalised learning objectives, schools’ personalised learning budgets (SSG 2007-2008) are perfectly placed to fund this innovative, project-based approach. However, skip2bfit is also currently working with a number of corporations and School Sports Partnerships who  believe in the enormous benefits of this programme. We are therefore also able to offer aspects of the programme for free as they are directly funded by our  allies. If you would like to find out whether your school might be eligible for a free skip2bfit event please contact us.
