February 2010 Skip2bfit becomes a National Partner of Change4Life

Skip2bfit has been accepted as a National Partner of the Change 4 Life Movement. Obesity is one of the biggest health challenges we face and the Government is committed to taking action to prevent more serious illness and much bigger costs to the health service and the country in years to come. Change4Life is England’s first ever national social marketing campaign to promote heathly weight. It aims to prevent people from becoming overweight by encouraging them to eat well, move more and live longer. The campaign began in January 2009 and supports the overall Healthy Weight, Healthy Lives strategy. Change4life gives out messages to support healthy weight and Skip2bfit endorses the messages ‘Up & About’, ‘5 a day’ and ’60 Active Minutes. To make the Skip2bfit programme accessable to the whole family, Skip2bfit has recently set up the unique idea of a Family Fitness Pack. It has two Skip2bfit ‘counting; ropes , a CD and a Family Fitness Chart. As the ropes are adjustable they can be used by the whole family and the CD and the chart means that anyone in the family can have a go at the 2 minute challenge and monitor/measure their improvement. The beauty of skipping is that it is an easy exercise, which can be undertaken virtually anywhere, at very little cost and this has been recognised by the Change4life movement and hence Skip2bfit was accepted as a National Partner. Skip2bfit now plans to promote the Skip2bfit Family Fitness Pack along side its partnership with Change4Life and Skip4life to get the country doing the Skip2bfit Challenge.
